Soon, make-out sessions replace homework, lust triumphs over work. And to further crumble her perfect world, an unexpected phone call threatens to take away everything she’s worked for.
Now, as Melanie struggles to pick up the pieces, she realizes that John may be the only one to put her life back together…unless he shatters it first.
ThoughtsThe Only One completely took me by surprise. I liked Melanie and John Boy in The Only Exception so I was intrigued to see how they would go together but I wasn't prepared for such a deep and complex plot! I really enjoyed how the plot developed slowly and allowed the characters to evolve accordingly. Melanie started out as an intense character who needed to break out of her shell and grew into someone capable of accepting help and letting go. I loved John Boy in The Only Exception but he really impressed me in The Only One. I liked how he was prepared to be exactly what Melanie needed and was so supportive. His character was I loved the side cast. Melanie's family were lovely. Valerie, her sister, was perfect for when Melanie needed someone to straight with her and when she needed someone to look after her. Monica and Trey made a brilliant cameo as supportive friends and advisors. As always I loved the small college setting!
I absolutely loved the plot twists and depths and the characters!
