Completely back in the Throne of Glass world- so excited to start Queen of Shadows! Also loved my Sci-Fi read, This Shattered World, I can't wait for the final instalment!

  •  Flash and Arrow are back! I love Superhero films and programmes so I'm loving watching these two again. Especially because the Oliver and Barry are such different characters!
  • Once Upon A Time is back! I absolutely love this programme it's a recent find so I'm finding the weekly wait hard!
  • Redid all my display boards ready for my first term with Year 3!
  • Went to the Moscow State Circus- amazing as always!
  • Started planning 2016's adventures, possibly East Coast USA.
  • Attended a masked 1950s themed ball.
  • Watched The Blair Witch Project in a cemetery (I'm wimpy so this was a big deal!).
  • Dressed up as Circus Britney for my friend's Britney Spears themed Halloween Housewarming!
How was your October?

September: A Review

I have missed these monthly reviews! September has been a month of rereading and settling in to my new job!

When I looked at Goodreads I was shocked as I felt I'd been reading lots and then I realised I'd been rereading a lot! I love rereading, going back to your favourite passages or just opening on a random page and re-experiencing it all. Book Worm Alert!

Lots of TV catching up in September! Being away all summer and my PGCE before limited my TV watching. Enjoying the return of Orphan Black and Great British Bake Off (final next week!).
Series' that finished forever
Revenge~ Loved the ending and I will miss Emily and Nolan.
Under the Dome~ Not a great ending but a fab series.
Continuing series'
Pretty Little Liars~ I know who A is but I still have so many questions!
Fantastic Four was a great reboot and a fab cast!
I got to watch an advance preview with Maze Runner and Scorch Trials back to back which was great as I had forgot minor details of Maze Runner and I'm looking forward to the next instalment.
  • Started my first teaching job!
  • Taught Year 2 for two weeks solo.
  • Started a Yoga class.
  • Baked a successful Lime Meringue Pie.
  • Watched Michael McIntyre live.
  • Enjoyed a weekend in the Welsh Valleys.
  • Attended the annual end of summer party.

September wasn't as exciting as August or July but it was a good month with work life fun like celebrating Alice in Wonderland with Year 1, waffle catch ups with my favourites, lots of cocktails and a 'proper' job!

What did you love about September?
Much Love!

2014 End of Year Survey: Part 1.

2014 End of Year Survey is hosted by Jamie at The Perpetual Page-Turner.

I found out about this survey too late last time that it was this year so I've been waiting for it to pop up this year. There are so many questions and I love including covers so  I'm splitting it up into sections.

Part One: Best in Books I

Book You Were Excited About & Thought You Were Going To Love More But Didn’t?
I love Lauren Barnholdt and while The Thing About The Truth was good it just wasn''t as good as I'd expected!

Most surprising (in a good way or bad way) book you read in 2014?
Vain  was so much more than I expected it was unexpectedly humbling, informative and entertaining!

Best series you started in 2014?
I picked up Shadow and Bone on a whim and had to nip out on holiday to get Siege! Such an unique and interesting series!

Best Sequel of 2014?
I was initially unsure about a sequel to Nantucket Blue but Nantucket Red really adds depth to the characters and the series!

Best Series Ender of 2014?
Addicted After All was a fantastic end to Loren and Lily's story it emphasised how much they'd recovered and matured plus they were babies!
Into the Still Blue ended one of my favourite dystopian series and I loved it!

Favourite new author you discovered in 2014?

Ellen Renner's Tribute is a beautifully written medieval style fantasy and I'm looking forward to more from her.
Sarina Bowen writes New Adult with extra depth and the 'drama/trauma' facing her lead characters is consistently a new to me plot!

Most Thought-Provoking/ Life-Changing Book of 2014?
Torn Away is an emotional and refreshing book that asks the questions what happens after the 'worst '? It really made me think about the aftermath of these disasters.

Book you can’t believe you waited UNTIL 2014 to finally read?
My Life Next Door was on my TBR list for two years! I should of picked it up back in 2012, such a perfect summer book!

Favorite Passage/Quote From A Book You Read In 2014?
“I've always loved the first day of school better than the last day of school. Firsts are best because they are beginnings.” Jenny Han, To All the Boys I've Loved Before
Lara Jean has a point beginnings are the best!

Happy New Year!

Much Love!

October: A Review!

October has been my first month of placement! I was in school in Year 6 for two weeks which included two trips, no pens day and a lot of World War I! I then went back to Uni for 3 days and started working on my first assignment. So all in all October has been jammed packed hence the poor blogging and reading!

October Goals...
Pre-Schedule, Reviews and Reading...
Well.... These goals kind of fell to the wayside this month as I mentioned above!

November blogging goals!
Pre-schedule- This is key to my successful blogging and teaching I think. I need to get back on top of it this month.

Reviewing- I now have a big backlog of reviews so fingers crossed I get them out this month. I'm going for aim for a low 4 just in case!

Well November will see some pretty exciting changes on the blog! So be sure to keep a look out!

Much Love!

September Goals...
Pre-Schedule- Yay! My prescheduling has worked this month! I think my blog has actually been better than August....
Social Media~ Whoops! Not so good. Mainly because I can only connect my phone and netbook to the Uni internet and my blog social media is on my tablet...
Reviews~ More reviews! Not quite 6 but that was an ambitious goal!

October blogging goals!
  • Pre-Schedule- I just want to keep this up and hopefully make it a routine.
  • Reviews- I'm hoping for a realistic 4 as I'm starting my first placement!
  • Reading- I need to make a conscious effort to read more. Without my morning bus journey and solo lunch break (downside of a small office!) I've lost my reading time! Plus I have so many PGCE readings that my evenings are taken up. So I'm going to aim to read 6 books again!

How was your September?
Looking forward to Autumn?
Much Love!

I completely failed the Monster Reviewathon and Beat the Heat Readathon as I've got a lot of reading to do for my course which I didn't realise I had!
I'm still going with my Bingo Challenge though as I'm extending my summer with a holiday! So I will wrap that up with a post next week.

September blogging goals!
Pre-Schedule- I'm anticiapating being really busy with my PGCE but I want to write up a post as week to keep my blog going. I've got 8 posts scheduled so far.
Social Media~ With blogging taking a back burner to my PGCE I'm planning to use Twitter and Instagram to keep up with the blog world and keep my blog going. So follow me on both of those!
Reviews~ More reviews! I want to post at least 6 reviews this month!

What I achieved!

Social Networking- I did get better with Twitter and Goodreads but I want to keep improving!

Blog Design- Not much progress here- I made my own post headers and added some buttons but that was all. Although I did learn more about html in posts though!

Posts- My goal was to average 16 posts a month- I just missed out by averaging 15!

Books- Success! I read 124!

Continuity- I said I wanted still be blogging in 2014 and I am!

What I hope to achieve in 2014 (blog wise!)
  • Social Media. I still feel I need to connect better with authors and bloggers using Twitter and possibly Goodreads.
  • Diversity~ A consistent theme in my monthly goals is more post diversity!Reviews are important but I often notice on other blogs that people prefer to comment on discussions or features so I want to focus on post diversity to keep my blog relevant and interesting!
  • Blog Design- Again I want to work on this! I'm hoping to change my background and blog header before the year is over!
  • Posts. I'm sticking to a goal of average 16 posts a month as that work out at 4 a week which feels realistic.
  • Books. I'm aiming higher then last year- 200!
Happy New Year!
What do you hope to achieve this year?
Much Love!
