Weekly Round Up + Bout of Books Wrap Up!

Bout of Books Read-a-Thon

Well Bout of Books was my week aside from work and soaking up quality time before my friend goes to Australia!

Mini Challenge!
The New Year's Resolution Challenge!
hosted by Ex Libris
Pick a book and choose one or several characters from it and make up what would be their New Year's resolutions if they made any.

I picked my first Bout of Books read! Going for realistic resolutions because Lucy and Jude need some!
Lucy- To look past appearances and allow explanations before judgements!
Jude- To try and see situations from Lucy's point of view and lock doors before passing out!
Both- To communicate better through phone calls, texting, email, Skye- just communicate!
I love Lucy and Jude and their story is so compelling but they don't make their lives easy!

Goals Met?
Aims-
  • To read 5 books.
  • See below!
  • To participate in at least one mini challenge
  • See above!
  • To comment on other blogs...
  • I was awful at this one!

    What I Read!
Success! My FIRST readathon where I reached my goal!
I actually read three of the books from my goals post as well, normally books I list before a readathon get 'jinxed'!
Only downside is Through The Ever Night isn't on the list as I cannot get my hands on it! I have searched 8 bookshops- I'm determined not to buy it online as I have a voucher!

    Challenge Updates
    Genre Variety Challenge- 2/12
    New Adult Challenge-5/20.

    YA Contemporary Challenge- 1/10.
    First Reads- 2/11.
Steady start- keep an eye on my Challenge page for updates!
    Other News
The Edge of Never by J.A. Redmerski- Review and blog tour!

    Coming Up!
Reviews- This week will have at least two reviews!
Through The Ever Night- I will find it and read it!

How did you do with Bout of Books?
    What have you been reading?
    Much Love!

    Crossed (Matched, #2)
No excuses now Reached is out as well!

Hopefully this one will come down to under £5! I sampled it and I know I will love it!

    Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally
    Catching Jordan (Hundred Oaks, #1)
This one is very popular and well reviewed! I finally bit the bullet and brought it!

Callum and Harper by Fisher Amelie
    Callum & Harper (Sleepless, #1)
I loved Thomas and January and the review was one of my most read posts!

    Top Ten Tuesday: Update!

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by: The Broke and the Bookish.
Next week's topic is Autumn TBRs so I thought I would  go back and see how many of my Anticipated Summer Reads I actually got round to reading :)

My Summer TBR was my very first Top Ten Tuesday here. I managed seven out of ten which isn't too bad!

    Read

I Heart London by Lindsey Kelk- Such a good end to the series although I hope it's not the permanent end!
Matched by Ally Condie- A great read! I loved the society set up and the characters, looking forward to reading Crossed and Reached.
If I Stay by Gayle Forman and Where She Went by Gayle Forman- These books will stay with me forever- they were so emotional!
Love of The Party by Lauren Barnholdt- I loved the fact this was a combination of different yet related stories, good quick read!
Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry-Better than Perfect Chemistry, it had such an intriguing plot and characters
Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson- Lived up to my expectations of Morgan Matson, I'm already looking forward to her next book!

    Not Read

    Divergent by Veronica Roth
This one is sat patiently on my library pile! I will be taking it away with me next month so it just misses out on being a summer read :)
In Honor by Jessi Kirby/The Thing about the Truth by Lauren Barnholdt
These two haven't been read for the same reason. I don't like buying contemporary books as hardbacks and unfortunately these two are only available in hardback!
I don't want them as ebooks as I'm still not a fan of ebooks... These two will get read as soon as they are paperbacks!

All seven were great picks and really good reads so I'm glad I stuck to the majority of this list!
I'm excited to pick out my Autumn TBR next Tuesday!

How did you do with your summer TBR?

    Much Love

    Stacking The Shelves!

    STSmall
What is Stacking The Shelves all about?
Stacking The Shelves is hosted by Tynga all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

Picked up a few books this week and I stumbled across this meme! Such a good idea :)

    Brought

I brought this with a Waterstones gift card!
It's been all over Goodreads and blogs and it sounds awesome!

    Borrowed

Across The Universe by Beth Revis- Finally picked this one up from the library :)
Someone Else's Life by Katie Dale- This one kept being recommended to me by Amazon so I took their advice!
Delirium by Lauren Oliver- Tracked this one down finally and I think I'm going to keep it until my next readathon! I still find the cover a little weird though..

    Previewed

I'm on a self imposed Amazon ban so I've been taking advantage of Kindle preview!
In Honour by Jessi Kirby- Loved the bit I read- will be buying it soon!
All That Matters by Kels Barnholdt- Haven't read this one yet!

Let me know what you've brought/borrowed/previewed!
    Much Love!

    Top Ten Tuesday!

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by: The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they hosted a themed Top Ten- this week is: Books we are most looking forward to reading this summer.

To me summer reads are holiday books, books I'd take to the beach or read on the plane or in the car!

    In no particular order!

I Heart London by Lindsey Kelk/ Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson

These two should be no surprises as they have featured on my Monday posts!
As I mentioned in my review of Amy and Roger's Epic Detour Morgan Matson is my current go to summer author and I am so excited to read her latest book!
I heart Lindsey Kelk so I'm looking forward to reading more of Angela's adventures!

Divergent by Veronica Roth/ Matched by Ally Condie
Both of these are less traditional beachy reads but I've been waiting to get into these series for ages and summer is going to be my last big stretch of free time to devote to reading!
I'm already halfway through Matched and I'm loving it!

In Honor by Jessi Kirby/The Thing about the Truth by Lauren Barnholdt

I've loved Lauren Barnholdt since Two Way Street and her books never disappoint. They are always fun, realistic and quick reads! I can't wait for her new book!
In Honor sounds like Two Way Street and Amy and Roger's Epic Detour as it's based around a road trip! I love the sounds of it and it's had positive reviews so far.

I've hesitated over this Lauren Barnholdt book as it's only available as a e book but I love her too much to miss out!
Pushing the Limits reminds me of the Simone Elkeles Perfect Chemistry series which I enjoyed last summer. The blurb sounds very interesting and hot! Perfect beach read :)

This series has been the edge of my TBR pile for ages!
I've heard nothing but good things about it so I'm looking forward to finally giving it a chance.

I'm hoping for summer weather to go with all these fabulous looking books!
Let me know what you plan on reading this summer!

    Much love!
