Summer Sign Ups!

I wasn't going to sign up to any read-a-thons as I have my Summer Bingo Challenge to keep up with but then these three challenges popped up in my news feed...

Arc August

ARC August is a month long challenge Octavia hosts as a way to help motivate people to tackle their huge (and small) ARC piles.
Sign up here.

Why?
I've gotten majorly behind with NetGalley so I thought this would be the best motivation!
Aim?
I'm aiming to read 10 ARCs this August which should get be back on course!

The Monster Thons.
The Monster Read and Review-a-thons are a great chance for us all to get together, read some fabulous reads, and get to those reviews that we know have been sitting there waiting to be done for a little too long. Sign Up here.
I've chosen Reviewathon!

Why?
I had a bit of a reading spree so I need to do some hard core reviewing!
Aim?
I'm aiming to write a total of 14 reviews, two a day!

Beat the Heat Readathon
The Beat the Heat Readathon runs from August 11th to September 1st. What does this readathon entail, you ask? Well, read as much or as little as you want – the main point is to READ! You set your own goal, and for three weeks you read as many books as you can/want to reach your goal!
Sign Up here.
Why?
I just love readathons and this one sounds fun!
Aim?
I'm aiming to read about 15 books, so five more than Arc August!

Have you signed up for any readathons??
I'm really looking forward to these!

Much Love!

Spring Reading Thing.

The Musings of a Book Addict is hosting an amazing 3 month reading challenge – The Spring Reading Thing! 20th March- 20th June 2014.

I've had a bit of a slow start to the year both blogging and reading so this no pressure long term challenge is just what I need.

Goals
I'm hoping to read 40 books- I need to get back on track to meet my 2014 goals!

TBR!
I've got a vague reading list but 3 months is long time to plan your reading!.
  • Once We Were by Kat Zhang.
  • Across a Star Swept Sea by Diana Peterfreund.
  • The One by Kiera Cass.
  • Stormdancer by Jay Kristoff.
  • Just One Year by Gayle Foreman.

Review Copy Cleanup!

http://www.booksbiscuitsandtea.co.uk/posts/review-copy-cleanup-4-0-sign-up/
RCC is a month-long event in which Celine from Nyx Book Reviews and Vicky from Books, Biscuits, and Tea challenge us to read as many review books as we possibly can!
Guidelines
The Review Copy Cleanup 4.0 runs from 1 to 28 February.
It starts and ends at midnight according to your local timezone to avoid confusion.
Every book you received for review counts towards the challenge, both e-books and hard copies (even audiobooks for review, if you have those), including all genres and lengths.

I missed out on this last year so I've signed up! I love that it links in with my NetGalley challenge. As I've mentioned, and it's probably clear in my stacking the shelves posts, I am addicted to requesting on NetGalley and signing up for blog tours! I definitely need a month to catch up and hopefully get ahead of myself!

Goals
  •  To get ahead of myself! I want to have read all of my review books up until the end of March.
  • To make sure I draft a review for each book I read!
I've made a shelf with what I'm hoping to read here.

Are you joining in?

Much Love!

Weekly Round Up + Bout of Books Wrap Up!

Bout of Books Read-a-Thon

Well Bout of Books was my week aside from work and soaking up quality time before my friend goes to Australia!

Mini Challenge!
The New Year's Resolution Challenge!
hosted by Ex Libris
Pick a book and choose one or several characters from it and make up what would be their New Year's resolutions if they made any.

I picked my first Bout of Books read! Going for realistic resolutions because Lucy and Jude need some!
Lucy- To look past appearances and allow explanations before judgements!
Jude- To try and see situations from Lucy's point of view and lock doors before passing out!
Both- To communicate better through phone calls, texting, email, Skye- just communicate!
I love Lucy and Jude and their story is so compelling but they don't make their lives easy!

Goals Met?
Aims-
  • To read 5 books.
  • See below!
  • To participate in at least one mini challenge
  • See above!
  • To comment on other blogs...
  • I was awful at this one!

    What I Read!
Success! My FIRST readathon where I reached my goal!

    Challenge Updates
    Genre Variety Challenge- 2/12
    New Adult Challenge-5/20.

    YA Contemporary Challenge- 1/10.
    First Reads- 2/11.

    Monday Round Up/Wrap Up

One of my favourite memes hosted by the lovely Shelia over at Book Journey! This week my Weekly Round Up has been hijacked (again!) as a Readathon wrap up! The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organised by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal .

    Read!

    Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire
Just as good as I'd hoped!
    Going Under by Georgia Cates
Great read- cover was misleading but it was so easy to read and the characters were great :)
The Boy Who Sneaks In My Bedroom Window by Kirsty Moseley.
Started strong but really weakened- not a fan! I really wanted to like it!
While It Lasts by Abbi Glines.
This one was all over my twitter so I just had to read it! Replaced Beautiful Disaster at the last minute as my favourite book of the week!

    Goals Met?
    Prediction= 6 Result= 4. Total Page count- 1,356
Same as last week! But this week I seemed to have an impromptu YA contemporary week which I really enjoyed! I also read more pages than last week so slight improvement.
I did have to cover two extra days at work which is why I read ebooks- easier to read during lunch and breaks!
I learnt the pitfalls of being taken in by Kindle samplers and cheap ebooks!
I really enjoyed Bout of Books- Unfortunately I missed all the Twitter chats which I was looking forward to.
I will definitely be taking part again :)

    Readathon posts!
    Goals Post!
    Update post.

    Reviews Posted!
    Better blogging week!
Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire- How quick was this one reviewed!
The Selection by Kiera Cass- Finally finished up this review.

    Reading

This one was just missed out on the Bout of Books! So far it's living up to my expectations!

    To Be Read

So excited for this one- hopefully it won't disappoint!

I really enjoyed the Bout of Books readathon- definitely going to be taking part in it again!

Let me know what you've been reading and loving!

Bout of Books- 13th August to 19th August

    Details
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organised by  Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal . It is a week long read-a-thon that begins Monday, August 13th and runs through Sunday, August 19th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week.

    Aim
I'm aiming for six again as I shouldn't be going anywhere this week!
I think this is a more realistic goal especially as I've got work until Wednesday so limited reading time.
    Books
As I proved last time these lists seem to curse the books on them!
    So I'll just list a couple :)
    1. Divergent by Veronica Roth
    2. Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire
    3. Across the Universe by Beth Revis
    4. Delirium by Lauren Oliver

Let me know if you're taking part and what you plan on reading!
